Individual Volunteers have a opportunities to care for orphans, help around the Care Corner facility, visit and teach children in local schools, evangelize in near-by villages, and see God’s provisions in many ways. There are many wonderful reasons that God brings individuals to Care Corner. The story below gives a glimpse into the visit of one of our volunteers, Merry, who stayed with us

Merry’s Story

Life for me at the orphanage is one of constant change. Each day comes ripe with the unknown. Will we be going to ride an elephant, frolic with the kids, evangelize at a Buddhist-run school, or lead revivals in a small village in the mountains? To the question that always seems to rise as whether I’d like to participate in the various activities or not, I reply: “Sure, why not?”

With this attitude, God has placed me in many situations where He has spoken through me, conveyed His love, and blessed those around me. I have worked alongside teams, partnered up with various volunteers, and walked along with only God by my side. In each position, God provides the right people, the right skills and just enough resources to fulfill what He had in mind. The children here have brought joy to my life, the staff and various volunteers have blessed me greatly, and God has shown me new facets and depths to His love, His plans, and His sovereignty.

Short-Term Mission Teams

Visiting short-term mission teams vary in their ministry passions, skills, and plans. Through this, God orchestrates a huge variety of ministries into Thailand. The following are just a few examples of recent outreaches:

Sharing God’s Word to Thai public school children – Thai teachers often see English speaking visitors as a learning opportunity for their students. Through this outreach thousands of Thai school children and dozens of Thai teachers and administrators have heard the saving news of Jesus Christ.

Village outreaches – As many children at Care Corner come from remote villages in Thailand, it is a powerful witness when a group and a Care Corner child goes into a village where the child once lived. The village’s openness to the Gospel is maximized as the villages can tangibly see the results of God’s love in the child’s life.

Holiday concert outreaches – Over recent Christmas holidays, Care Corner has been able to organize a series of evangelistic public concerts. These concerts were made possible by teams of visiting musicians. These concerts were held in large, busy shopping areas, even the largest shopping mall in Chiang Mai.

Many other outreach and service opportunities exist for teams wishing to participate in the ministry of Care Corner.
