Background of Care Corner Orphanage Foundation
Care Corner Orphanage Foundation, based in Chiang Mai, Thailand, has been serving as a registered child-relief center since 1995. Established with a commitment to holistic care rooted in values based on biblical principles, the foundation provides a safe and nurturing environment for vulnerable children affected by a range of high-risk circumstances. These include orphanhood, parental involvement in the drug trade or substance abuse, incarceration, and parental disability.
Care Corner continues to be operated by a dedicated team of local and international staff who work collaboratively to ensure each child receives access to education, healthcare, moral guidance, and long-term support for personal development and future livelihood. Through its mission, the foundation seeks to empower every child to live with dignity, purpose, and hope.
As the saying goes “education is not just about going to school and getting a degree. It’s about widening your knowledge and absorbing the truth about life” – Shakuntala Devi.
At CCO, one of our primary goals is to provide good holistic education to the children. For this we embrace the values and truths in life by using biblical principles. The book of Acts 4:13 tells us of Apostles Peter and John were unschooled, and yet they were recognized by the educated religious crowd because they received their teachings from Jesus.
Secondly, servant hood is another primary goal of ours. Learning to serve one another with love and humility is a virtue. The world system of being the greatest is to be first, in power and in control. At CCO, we would like to employ the biblical principal of “considering others better than ourselves” & “he that is the greatest among you shall be your servant.”
If you have a chance to visit us at CCO, I believe one of the remarkable characteristics is seeing the children serving one another and the live-in guests. This is easy to say than to practice, but by the grace of God, we hope to achieve this goal in the lives of the children.
“One can give without loving, but one cannot love without giving” – Amy Carmichael. This brings to our last primary goal.
Sharing is caring. It is not only on tangible materials. It is when someone is hospitalized we are there by his or her side. It is showing interest on spiritual thoughts, ideas, educations or experiences. So sharing is caring for a person in spirit, soul and body.
The above are awesome tasks that we cannot fulfill with our own strength, but with your collaboration and the grace of our Almighty God, I believe it can be done.
